RT AinvestWire: DeepSeek's founder once ruled out funding, an IPO, and commercialization. This week DeepSeek closed its first outside round: over 50 billion yuan ($7.4B) at a $54B pre-money valuation. Liang Wenfeng personally put in 20B, Tencent 10B, CATL 5B. A 4-hour investor call with Liang just leaked (via Tencent Tech). The most striking things he said: 1/ On strategy "Restraint is a strategy. The one whose vision is to take more has already lost, and will be beaten by the one whose vision is to take less." "You don't run a big company with rules. You run it with vision. Vision isn't a slogan on the wall, it's how you actually operate." 2/ On the gap with the US "We're about two years behind, but we did it with one-twentieth of their compute. The goal now is to use a fraction of the compute and shrink the time gap to 3 to 6 months." "Talent isn't the bottleneck. Compute is." 3/ On Nvidia $NVDA "Nvidia's CUDA moat is being dismantled fast, because now AI can write the code to build the ecosystem." "On chips, Nvidia is digging its own grave. Four Huawei cards equal one Nvidia card. The only problem with domestic chips is capacity, not the ecosystem." 4/ On the other labs "Anthropic's first-mover lead is real, but it won't last. OpenAI and Google will keep trading places." "OpenAI thought it could monopolize the world. It will meet many challengers, including from China, because Chinese firms are willing to take less." 5/ On price and open source "Chinese AI will be systematically cheaper, the same way Chinese goods are." "Our strongest model will be open-sourced too. I see no benef

What do you think is crap?RT DustinOgle33: Here is what Deepseek CEO (Liang Wengeng) said on a 4 hour investor meeting to raise $7.5 billion. The Big Picture: If you're an investor in that room, here's the actual pitch in five moves: We're not a product company. Chatbots, apps, multimodal features, vertical agents all sidequests. The only main line is AGI. Here's the roadmap: CoT (chain of thought) Agents (now) continual learning (the hard, unsolved problem) AI accelerating AI research (gradual singularity) embodied intelligence as the endgame. Don't expect us to chase revenue. Reasonable profit, rock-bottom prices, open weights, no sales team. That's not naivety it's how a compute-constrained lab maximizes its odds: cost-efficient architecture, ecosystem goodwill, and zero enemies. The moat is the team, not the tech stack. Team stability is the one thing that cannot be compromised, and your investment mostly de-risks that. The watermelon argument: if AGI is worth 10% of GDP, then fighting over today's chatbot traffic or B2B contracts is picking up sesame seeds (Chinese proverb). Restraint isn't idealism it's expected-value maximization. Detailed notes (10 sections): Section 1: DeepSeek Has Only One Main Line 1. Now is not the time to maximize revenue through products. On the road to AGI, you pass through the product step, but we don't need to spend much thought or energy on consumer (C-end) or enterprise (B-end) products. When you stand at a high level of technology and build something at a relatively lower level, it's a dimensionality-reduction strike. Products are a byproduct on the road to AGI. 2

Mums on her way up north for the shorthand stenographers conference complete with competitive shorthanding. She helped organise, having been secretary of an adjacent British organisation for 30 years, and that included the gifts.
Tote bags, notebooks, key rings, sweets, plus notebooks, brochures and perpetual calendars left over from previous times. And the British groups banner and tablecloth.
If it doesnt get taken home by the attendees, one of her colleagues with a bigger house and a storage unit is taking it, except a few things coming back here. Our garage is cluttered enough.
90 boxes went up by courier (many small boxes for lighter weight, shes 79 after all). His van filled in the 15-minute time slot and a photo given of hotel staff with their luggage trolley taking some inside when it arrived.
The piles sitting here collapsed twice, once slowly enough to catch, but only one items breakable (a city-related glass a company gifted with the purchase).

RT enzogte: I've been using Kimi K3 for 16 hours now. The model is clearly good at a lot of different things (especially frontend), but non obvious reason why people are enjoying it so much is that it clearly does not follow the same rules in terms of safeguards and copyright. Kimi will happily clone MacOSX. If you ask it to help you improve another AI model, it will do it with a smile on its virtual face. Ask Fable to do the same thing It literally starts to perceive you as a criminal committing a war crime (like no bro, all I want to do is fine tune an open source model). After using all three recent releases, Fable, GPT 5.6, and now Kimi, it's clear that the full power of the models has been significantly held back by the safeguard restrictions caused by last months debacle with the USG -- leading to the top models being quite literally lobotomized in some areas, which leads to subpar results as the safeguards pollute its entire thinking and problem solving abilities. The funny part Is that you could have predicted this outcome 2-3 years ago when you started to see the rise of Chinese EVs and smartphones compared to western alternatives. They quite literally tried to copy the Tesla Model S and iPhone as hard as possible and then eventually it started to diverge to the point where their EVs and phones are just genuinely better (which is why we have export controls banning their EVs, because they would literally drive all US manufacturers to ZERO) There is a very clear behavior difference in Chinese capitalism and American capitalism. American capitalism tries to protects copyright
